Dear Bob and Dang,
ReplyDeleteI found you via Grand Design Owners Forum. I'm trying to gather info on replacing my LA battery with LiPO4. Anyway what I want to say is thanks for your videos. My wife thinks you sound like Rick Steves and I agree. You do a great job narrating the videos. Your language is very colorful and your videos are well done. Kudos to you and Dang.
My wife Nancy and I live right up the freeway from you in San Juan Capistrano. We have a 2020 2500 RL which we bought used in Palm Springs from a private party and a 2017 F250 6.2 gas engine 2WD which I bought used with 35K miles from a Encinitas Ford.
I enjoy your Youtube channel because we have the same model TT and you travel places that my wife and I want to go to. I like the fact that you mention road conditions in those dispersed areas and if you need 4WD.
So I just wanted to say thank you for a great job it really help people like us. Hope to see you on the road sometime.
Sincerely,
Ed McDaniel
Hi Ed, I'm glad you were able to find us! That's great that you have the same model as us and live so close by. One of these days maybe we can meet up!. We really appreciate the compliments as well - we try to get a bit better with each video. We love San Juan Capistrano - so pretty there - you guys are lucky to live in such a nice place!.
DeleteSomeday we can compare notes on our trailers, I've done a good number of modifications - but mostly optional - its held up really well so far. We both really liked the floor plan which is why we got it. Also, at 6'6" the taller ceilings in there is really nice - and the shower has a lot of room too - it fits us perfectly for a small easy to tow trailer.
When I converted to Solar I built my own battery system, at the time they were crazy expensive and I was able to build 280 AH's for around $700 all-in. But times have changed they have come way down in price these days - I would not go that route again (it was a fun little project though). I'd be happy to give you opinions on converting to Lifepo4 battery - ours is going on 3 years now and it's been just great.
You can get our email address from our youtube 'about' page if you have questions on the battery or for that matter anything I'm happy to answer to the best of my ability. Thanks again for commenting and good luck with the battery :)
