🚐 The Heart of the Northern Rockies: Wood Bison, Hot Springs & The Alcan's Highest Point! 🌲

Our journey south from Alaska continues, and we’re so excited to share that our next video, Episode 20, is now live! This chapter takes us into the heart of the Northern Rockies in British Columbia, a stretch of the Alaska Highway that is world-renowned for its stunning scenery and abundant wildlife. 🌲

Join us as we leave Watson Lake behind and start with a visit to the incredible "Oasis of Warmth," the Liard River Hot Springs. ♨️ We'll take you on a walk along the boardwalks through the lush, almost tropical-feeling forest that surrounds the pools. The surprises continue as we drive along the stunning turquoise shores of Muncho Lake and have an unforgettable encounter with a majestic herd of wild Wood Bison right on the side of the road. 🦬

The adventure takes a very real turn as evening approaches. We'll share the full story of our "campsite conundrum"—a frustrating failed boondocking attempt that led to the unexpected discovery of an abandoned WWII airstrip! It’s a classic example of how, in RV life, sometimes Plan A doesn't work out, but it often leads to something interesting. πŸ˜‰

The next day is all about elevation and rewards. We take you on the climb to the highest point on the entire Alaska Highway at Summit Pass, navigate some sketchy road construction, and finally resolve our camping situation with a truly unbelievable stroke of luck. Of course, no trip through this valley is complete without a stop at the Tetsa River Lodge for what might just be the best cinnamon bun on the Alcan. πŸ˜‹

This was a jam-packed couple of days filled with breathtaking beauty, unexpected challenges, and simple rewards. We hope you enjoy coming along for the ride! 🚐

Watch the full episode above and let us know in the YouTube comments what your favorite part was! We love hearing about your own Alaska Highway experiences as well.

Happy Trails,

Bob and Dang

The Journey South Continues: A Sneak Peek of Episode 20 🌲

As we put together these final chapters of our Alaska series, we’re excited to share the next leg of our trip: the journey south. The drive along the Alaska Highway through the Yukon and Northern British Columbia is absolutely breathtaking, full of vast wilderness and stunning scenery. We tried to capture that immense scale and beauty in the aerial views you see in this short video preview.

In our upcoming Episode 20, we're excited to share this beautiful leg of the trip with you. Our first major stop is the famous Liard River Hot Springs in British Columbia. While we didn't go for a soak, we take you on a beautiful walk along the boardwalks, exploring the unique, lush ecosystem that surrounds the thermal pools. It’s a truly tropical-feeling oasis in the northern wilderness.

Later that day, we find a spot at Strawberry Flats Campground, a perfect base for a peaceful after-dinner sunset hike. The views were a quiet and beautiful end to an eventful day.

Of course, the journey wouldn't be complete without continuing our unofficial taste test of local treats! We stop at another highly-recommended cinnamon bun on the drive towards our final stop, the Buffalo Inn, where we settle in for a quick and practical overnight rest.

We are putting the finishing touches on this episode now and will post an update with the exact release date and time very soon. We're looking forward to sharing this peaceful and scenic part of our adventure with you.

For now, we hope you enjoy the preview!

Alaska RV Journey Episode 19 is LIVE! 🚐🌲

The seasons are changing, and so is the scenery on our Epic Alaskan RV Adventure! In Episode 19, we say goodbye to the Klondike Highway and rejoin the famous ALCAN, heading south from Whitehorse to the iconic town of Watson Lake. This leg of the journey was all about the "must-do" experiences—from tackling the giant cinnamon bun at Braeburn Lodge to a fantastic dinner with our friends from @GoldenAnniversaryAdventure in Whitehorse.

We share the reality of working from the road, the challenge of finding that perfect boondocking spot (and the scary exit ramp!), and the awe of seeing the autumn colors transform the landscape before our eyes. The whole trip culminates in a visit to the incredible Northern Lights Centre and the moment we've been waiting for: adding our own sign to the world-famous Sign Post Forest. It was a day of daredevil work, delicious food, and unforgettable memories. We hope you'll come along for the ride! πŸŒ²πŸ”§πŸ”©

πŸŽ₯ Reflections from the Road: The Journey Continues 🚐

There’s a unique feeling that settles in when you realize you’re on the final stretch of a long and incredible journey. It feels like just yesterday we were planning our route, and now, as we put together these later episodes of our Alaska series, we find ourselves in a reflective mood. When we set out, our goal was not just to travel, but to bring you along with us—to share the stunning views, the challenging drives, and the quiet moments that make a trip like this so special. The process of turning these experiences into a story for you to watch has been a journey in itself, and it has been one of the most rewarding parts of our adventure. What makes it all worthwhile is the community that has grown around these travels. Your comments, your shared memories, and your encouragement have transformed this from a simple travel log into a shared experience. While the end of this particular series is on the horizon, we still have some amazing moments and beautiful places left to share with you as we travel through the Yukon and continue our journey. We're excited to bring you these final chapters. Thank you for being here with us. Knowing you're along for the ride makes every mile more meaningful. Warmly, Bob and Dang
